Linda Brown, PhD, RN, PMH-BC, is the new Director of Nursing Services at Averett University. She brings more than 35 years of academic and nursing experience to her position.  Most recently, she served as Assistant Professor/Clinical Coordinator at Hampton University's School of Nursing.

Dr. Brown received her Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from Hampton University in 2019.  She started her nursing education at the Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans, LA, then continued her education by completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of South Alabama and her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Phoenix in New Orleans, LA.

Dr. Brown is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, and has a passion for this nursing specialty.  She is very excited about being a part of the team at Averett University and her role to bring highly qualified baccalaureate prepared registered nurses into the profession.
