Our team
Betsy B. Carr was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 2009 representing parts of the City of Richmond on both sides of the James River. In the House of Delegates she serves on the Appropriations, Transportation, General Laws.
She also serves on a number of commissions, including the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Commission, and the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation. She is Treasurer of the House Democratic Caucus.
She has served as outreach director at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in downtown Richmond, a founder and director of the Micah Initiative, and represented the fifth district of the City of Richmond’s School Board.
Betsy is an honors graduate of Hollins University. She has three grown sons and six grandchildren.
